Jun 7, 2022 | Advice

Corrugated steel roofing sheets have been a popular choice for a variety of businesses across different sectors. Industries such as agricultural for animal shelters, industrial for manufacturing spaces and workshops as well as, residential. Corrugated roofing has several benefits, here at Cardinal Steels we take you through them.

1. Durable & Resilient

The initial benefit and main intention of metal roofing is to improve durability. Corrugated curved sheets last longer than other roofing options, due to their grooves and ridges as part of their design. Furthermore, metal roofing is also resistant to corrosion, wear and tear and has non-combustible properties. Therefore, guarantees resilience over time even if a fire arises.

2. Long Lasting

As previously mentioned, a corrugated roof panels will last for a very long time. Often determined by the thickness of the panel and the type of coating used. Typically, a thinker panel will have a better quality of coating, thus it will likely last longer. However, thinner metal sheeting will also last for years to come, however, they need extra care and maintenance to uphold it.

3. Low Maintenance

Certain roofing materials require a lot of maintenance to ensure they’re in working order. If roofs are neglected holes, or bits of damage because of the weather can quickly occur. Corrugated galvanised sheets can be left for months, sometimes even years, and it will still not show any signs of wear and tear. The most that may have to occur is to recoat the panels to add another layer over the corroded potions.

4. Prevents Water Build-up

Corrugated roofing sheets are smooth; therefore, water easily runs off it. Therefore, it needs to installed on a slot so that the water will run downward away from your building. However, it means the roofing prevents water build up even in the harshest weather conditions.

5. Sustainable

Metal steel roofing is recyclable, therefore, increases your companies eco-friendly, sustainable image.

6. Energy Efficient

Corrugated roofing can also be made insulated and can be coated with a reflective solution that will prevent the absorption of heat. This will help maintain a cool atmosphere within that building.
