Choosing a Roof Sheet for Your Building
The same profile can be right for one building and wrong for the one next to it. A stable and a carport may be a similar size and sit on similar timbers, but one needs to deal with the moisture a horse breathes out overnight and the other is open to the wind on three sides. Those are different problems and they lead to different sheets.
These pages set out what actually changes between building types: which profile suits the span, whether condensation needs managing, what gauge to ask for, and how much daylight you can bring in with roof lights. If your building is not listed, the principles still apply and we are happy to talk it through.

The decisions that matter
Profile. Box profile in CS32/1000 or CS34/1000 is stiff along its length and spans further between purlins. Corrugated in the 13.5/3 profile has a softer, more traditional appearance, a 990.6mm cover width and takes a gentle curve. Big 6 matches the profile most old fibre cement and asbestos sheeting was made in.
Condensation. Any building that is enclosed, unheated and holds something you care about will condense on the underside of a steel roof. Dripstop anti-condensation sheets hold the moisture in a felt layer until it can evaporate. Open-sided buildings rarely need it.
Daylight. GRP roof lights are made in matching box profile, corrugated and Big 6 forms, so they drop into the same run as the steel sheets and cut the need for lighting during the day.
Insulation. If the building is heated, or is being used as a workshop or office, insulated panels do in one fix what a built-up system does in four.

What Coatings Do We Offer?
We always recommend our PVC Plastisol-coated sheets due to their cost-effectiveness and excellent resistance to abrasion and corrosion. Polyester-coated sheets are also a high-quality, versatile option suitable for both box profile and corrugated roofing sheets. However, care must be taken to avoid scratching during handling and installation.
