GRP Roof Lights in Corrugated Profile

Our corrugated roof lights are moulded in the same 13.5/3 form as our corrugated steel roof sheets, with the same 990.6mm cover width. That means a roof light replaces a sheet in the run rather than needing a separate opening formed in the roof.

On agricultural and rural buildings, where corrugated is the usual covering, this is how daylight is normally brought in without altering the roof structure.

Replacing old translucent sheets

Many older buildings were lit through translucent cement or early plastic sheets that have since yellowed, gone brittle or cracked. Replacing them with GRP in the matching profile restores the light without disturbing the surrounding roof.

Treat the old sheets as fragile and assume nothing about what they are made of.

Curves

Corrugated’s shallow, evenly distributed waves let a sheet take up a gentle curve, which is one reason it is still specified on older agricultural buildings. Our article on corrugated sheets on curved roofs sets out what is achievable.

What Coatings Do We Offer?

We always recommend our PVC Plastisol-coated sheets due to their cost-effectiveness and excellent resistance to abrasion and corrosion. Polyester-coated sheets are also a high-quality, versatile option suitable for both box profile and corrugated roofing sheets. However, care must be taken to avoid scratching during handling and installation.
