Cladding Matched to Your Existing Building
Extending or repairing an older building is straightforward until you discover the original profile is no longer made. A near match is usually obvious once it is on the wall, and on a visible elevation that is not an acceptable outcome. The rib pitch is slightly different, the laps do not close properly, and the eye goes straight to it.
We manufacture bespoke and obsolete profiles in-house at our Bromsgrove facility, which means we can produce cladding to match what is already on the building rather than asking you to accept the closest current equivalent.

What we need from you
A sample sheet is ideal. Failing that, accurate measurements of the rib pitch, rib height and overall cover width, with clear photographs taken square-on, will usually let us identify or reproduce the profile.
Photographs taken at an angle are much harder to work from, so it is worth getting a ladder to them.
What Coatings Do We Offer?
We always recommend our PVC Plastisol-coated sheets due to their cost-effectiveness and excellent resistance to abrasion and corrosion. Polyester-coated sheets are also a high-quality, versatile option suitable for both box profile and corrugated roofing sheets. However, care must be taken to avoid scratching during handling and installation.

Where the old covering is fibre cement rather than steel, Big 6 steel sheets match the profile most of it was made in. Bear in mind that cement sheeting installed before 1999 may contain asbestos and should be tested before any work starts; HSE publishes clear guidance and licensed removal is the route where it is confirmed. If only part of the building has failed, over-cladding may be a better route than replacement.

How do I identify my existing cladding profile?
Measure the rib pitch, the rib height and the overall cover width, and take clear photographs square-on to the sheet. A sample offcut is better still. Send them to us and we will tell you what it is.

Can you match a profile that is no longer manufactured?
In most cases yes. We roll bespoke and obsolete profiles in-house rather than working from a catalogue of current products.

Is bespoke cladding more expensive?
It costs more than a standard profile, but it is usually far cheaper than re-cladding an entire elevation because one section could not be matched.

Can I get bespoke sheets in the same colours?
Yes. Bespoke profiles are available across the full finish range and all 16 colours.

What if the existing sheets are fibre cement?
Then Big 6 is likely the profile you need. Have the old sheets tested for asbestos before any work starts.
